The
Good As Gould Goalie School (GGS) believes in allowing goaltenders
to develop and improve THEIR OWN STYLE of goaltending. We also
believe that while each goaltender is unique in their technique,
they all have a common need for tactical development, concentration,
strength, flexibility and control of game situations. The school
therefore strives to combine a broad development of all the
goalies knowledge of the game with a focused enhancement
of each goalies individual techniques. This goal is achieved
by providing a balanced curriculum with of ice training, classroom
instruction, on ice training and video analysis with the best
teachers available.
Structure
Each
day the goalies will train off ice, practicing a number of drills
aimed at physiological and psychological development. The classroom
instruction will cover such topics as equipment, mental game
preparation, game situation analysis and continuing self improvement.
Goalies will also watch video tape of their previous days
practice, to be analyzed by the instructors. The on ice sessions
will be broken into six stations. Each station will have one
instructor, 2 shooters and will cover essential skills such
as v-saves, stack saves, glove & blocker saves, out of net
play, rebound control, breakaways etc.Goalies will receive the
highest quality instruction for a limited number of goalies.
The low Student/Instructor ratio not only allows each goalie
to practice more in a given time slot, but it also allows the
instructors to get to know each goalies specific talents
and needs.
